Two young siblings among five killed in city road crashes

KARACHI:

Five people, including two young siblings lost their lives while 11 others sustained injuries in separate traffic accidents in the city on Saturday.

Two minor siblings riding a motorcycle were critically injured in an accident in Steel Town. Six-year-old Gulzadi, succumbed to her injuries en route to hospital, while her elder brother, 12-year-old Abdul Razzaq, died during the treatment.

According to the police, the siblings, residents of Ghaghar Phatak, collided with a car. Driver of the vehicle has been taken into custody while the car has been impounded. The bodies were handed over to the heirs after legal procedures.

In another incident, 23-year-old Hashim, son of Sakhawat, died in a traffic accident near Port Qasim. His body was shifted to a nearby police station for legal proceedings. Hashim, a cleaner, was crushed to death under the wheels of his trailer.

Additionally, a 28-year-old man died in a traffic accident at Afghan Cut Indus Chowk near Northern Bypass. His body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The deceased, riding a car, could not be identified.

Meanwhile, 28-year-old Shafiq Ahmed died when his motorcycle slipped near Jamali Bridge on the Superhighway.

Furthermore, four minor siblings, Tauqeer, 15, Taskin, 11, Abia, 7, and Hamza, 5, were injured in a traffic accident near Qayyumabad Bridge. They were rushed to Jinnah Hospital. Seven people were injured when two trucks collided near Ramzan Chowrangi on the Superhighway near Dumba Goth. The injured were identified as Qamar, Shahid, Hayat, Faisal, Rafiq, Abid, and Asif.
