Apple Music has announced The King’s Music Room, a special celebration of music from across the Commonwealth, personally selected by His Majesty King Charles III.

The programme will premiere on Apple Music 1 on March 10 at 6 a.m. GMT, with additional broadcasts throughout Monday and Tuesday on Apple Music 1 and Apple Music Hits.

Recorded in His Majesty’s office at Buckingham Palace, The King’s Music Room offers a rare glimpse into King Charles III’s personal connection to music. The playlist spans decades and genres, featuring 1930s crooners, Afrobeats icons, reggae legends, and disco divas, reflecting his deep appreciation for global sounds.

In the broadcast, curated to mark Commonwealth Day, the King shares stories about his encounters with musicians and explains why certain tracks hold special meaning.

“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me,” King Charles III remarks in the introduction. “It has the remarkable ability to bring back memories, provide comfort, and lift our spirits—especially when it unites us in celebration.”

The show features legendary artists Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, and Grace Jones, alongside contemporary stars like Davido and RAYE.

Apple Music’s global head of Content and Editorial, Rachel Newman, expressed excitement about the collaboration, calling it an “honour” to share the King’s personal playlist with global audiences.

Listeners can tune in for free on Apple Music 1 or stream the show on-demand with an Apple Music subscription.
