Karachi Violence Case: Power breakdowns mar last hearing

The disturbance appeared to be a mechanical fault as the supply was cut from the KESC’s source

KARACHI:
The last Supreme Court suo motu hearing of the Karachi violence case was hampered by power outages on Thursday. The supply of electricity to the Karachi Registry was erratic, first shutting down at 9:20 am and then starting and stopping intermittently about a dozen times. The 150 KVA generator also developed a fault and kept tripping. The disturbance appeared to be a mechanical fault as the supply was cut from the Karachi Electric Supply Company’s source and their staff was seen bustling around trying to fix it.
