Union seeks Rs500m approved for employees dues

HYDERABAD:

The General Secretary of the Hyderabad Water and Sewerage Corporation labour union, Insaf Ali Lashari has demanded of the government to provide the approved Rs500 million within ten days, failing which the employees will be forced to shut down the sewerage system.

Union office bearers stated that due to the corrupt and incompetent administration's policies, employees are being denied salaries and pensions, even during the holy month. Retired employees' dues have also not been paid since long.

The financial crisis has forced employees to live in poverty, and their gas and electricity connections have been disconnected. The union has appealed to the CM and relevant authorities to immediately release the approved fund meant to be paid as salaries and pensions so that employees get some financial relief before Eid.

These institutions have not paid their dues for the first three months of the financial year 2024-25, resulting in severe financial difficulties.
