KESC plans widespread cuts for weekend

KARACHI: Most of the city will have no electricity over the weekend as KESC will be carrying out maintenance work. On Saturday the company is testing the water sprinkler system for the auto transformer at the Gizri Grid Station. Consequently, the power supply will be interrupted from 11am to 2pm in the following areas: Clifton blocks 4, 5, 8, 9, DHA Phases I, II, IV, V, VI, Phase V extension, Frere Town, Civil Lines, 26th Street, P&T Colony, PNS Shifa, Kala Pul, Korangi Road, PWR Area, Dr Daudpota Road, Fatima Jinnah Road, Cantt Station area, Punjab Colony and Delhi Colony.

There will be no electricity on Sunday as KESC will shut down a 250 MVA transformer at the KCR grid station for maintenance. The following areas will be without power between 11 am to 5 pm: all of DHA, Clifton, Shahrah-i-Faisal, Lyari Town, Old City, West Wharf, Lalazar, Sultanabad, PIDC, II Chundrigar Road, FTC, PECHS, NIC, Saddar Town, Kemari, Shireen Jinnah Colony, Akhtar Colony, Neelam Colony, Punjab Colony, Kashmir Colony, Garden East, Garden West, Nishtar Road, Ranchore Line, Jahangir Road, Patel Para, Lines area, Abbysinia Lines, Tariq Road, Gurumander, Jail Road, Mehmoodabad, Manzoor Colony, Mohammad Ali Housing Society and Bahadurabad.
