to host a monthly Parkinson’s support group for people with the condition and their caregivers.
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Parkinson’s Society and the Aga Khan University Hospital have joined hands to host a monthly Parkinson’s support group for people with the condition and their caregivers. The first support group met recently at the Aga Khan Hospital Sports and Rehabilitation Centre. Speakers included Dr Mughis Sherani, an AKUH neurologist and Haroon Basheer of the society. AKUH introduced the Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Programme that is aimed at helping patients become more independent. In order to ensure that each individual has a personalised programme designed around their needs, Dr Sherani will be assessing all participants individually. The society pledged to pay for the cost of the first ten patients, on a need basis. For more information, please contact Khurram Zia Khan at 35867576 and 35837674
