Karachi weather alert: Temperature to hit 38°C

Winds will continue at a speed of 10 to 25 km/h during the next 24 hours.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted hot weather in Karachi starting today, with temperatures expected to rise further by Friday.

According to the department, the temperature in Karachi could range between 35 and 38°C by tomorrow.

Throughout the day, hot and dry winds from the northwest are expected, although sea breezes are likely to resume in the evening.

The department also noted that the intensity of the heat will persist until March 12, after which the western winds may affect the upper and northern regions of the country.

Following March 12, a decrease in temperature is expected in Karachi. Winds will continue at a speed of 10 to 25 km/h during the next 24 hours.

Notably, the coldest temperatures yesterday were recorded at various locations, including Jinnah Terminal at 11.5°C, Gulistan-e-Johar at 13.2°C, Shahrah-e-Faisal at 12.5°C, Bin Qasim Town at 13.6°C, and the lowest at 10°C in Mauripur.

On the other hand, Met office predicts dry weather in most parts of the country, while cold in hilly areas during the next twelve hours.

However, gusty winds are likely in central and southern parts.

Temperature of major cities recorded this morning:

Islamabad 9°C, Lahore 12°C, Peshawar 8°C, Quetta and Gilgit 6°C and Murree and Muzaffarabad 5°C

According to weather forecast for Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, very cold and dry weather is expected in Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, Baramula and Leh while cold and dry in Jammu.

Temperature recorded this morning:

Srinagar and Pulwama -3°C, Jammu 9°C, Leh -12°C, Anantnag -1°C, Shopian -2°C and Baramula 2°C.
