Remotely-detonated bomb kills four in Khuzdar

QUETTA:

Four people were killed and five others injured when a remote-controlled explosive device planted in a motorcycle detonated near a welding shop in Nal, a tehsil of Khuzdar district.

According to officials, the motorcycle belonged to Samad Samalani, a resident of Kahda, who was critically injured in the blast. The deceased have been identified as Ubaidullah, son of Lal Bakhsh, and Munir Ahmed, son of Abdul Ghani, while the identities of two bystanders remain unknown.

Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar Yasir Iqbal Dashti said that security forces rushed to the scene immediately after the incident. One of the injured was shifted to the trauma center, while others were taken to a local hospital, with arrangements underway to transfer them to Khuzdar for further treatment.

Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind condemned the attack. In a statement, he said that those responsible for the blast would be brought to justice. He added that elements attempting to sabotage the province's peace would not be spared.
