Pakistani actors Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz have taken a distinctive approach to their son Kabir Hussain's upbringing by prioritising spoken Urdu over English. This decision contrasts with the trend among most Pakistani celebrities who often introduce English as the primary language to their children.

In a recent appearance on a local channel's Ramazan transmission, hosted by Rabia Anam and Danish Taimoor, the couple discussed their linguistic preferences for Kabir. During the discussion, Rabia Anam praised Yasir and Iqra for their decision, highlighting how many parents today struggle to maintain their children's connection with Urdu. Yasir emphasised their household's commitment to communicating in Urdu, underscoring the importance they place on their native language, plainly stating that, "We primarily speak Urdu at home."

The actor recounted an incident where someone from a set expressed surprise that Kabir spoke Urdu, suggesting that English should be prioritised since Urdu could be learned easily later. Yasir, however, holds a different perspective, believing that a strong grasp of Urdu is essential and that other languages, like English, can be acquired at any age.

To this, Iqra added that, "Our schools are English-medium, which means that children learn from school and other children. In fact, sometimes Kabir comes home from school and uses English words that we haven't even used or taught him." Rabia agreed, pointing out how common it is for children from privileged households to struggle with Urdu, often preferring to speak in English.

Beyond their linguistic choices, Yasir and Iqra frequently share glimpses of their family life on social media, particularly moments with their son, Kabir. Recently, Iqra shared an adorable video of Kabir engaging in a playful storytelling session, showcasing his growing vocabulary and love for imaginative play.

More recently, on December 28, Yasir and Iqra celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. They marked the occasion with a romantic dinner, sharing heartfelt messages and photos on Instagram. Iqra expressed her love and gratitude in a playful Instagram caption, "We've survived five years of love, laughter and Netflix password sharing. Here's to many more to come. Love you more with each passing year. Happy Anniversary, baby."

Yasir also shared a touching note, acknowledging the positive impact Iqra has had on his life, "Iqra Aziz, thank you for changing my life." Their anniversary celebration was widely appreciated by fans, with many leaving congratulatory comments on their posts.
