Seven years after Netflix canceled Daredevil, Marvel’s masked vigilante returns in Daredevil: Born Again, now streaming on Disney Plus. According to CNET, the reboot delivers gritty action, intense drama, and brutal fight sequences, staying true to the tone of the original series.

The show sees Charlie Cox reprise his role as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer who moonlights as Daredevil, while Vincent D’Onofrio returns as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, now seeking political power. The story begins with a tragic event that unleashes Murdock’s inner rage, setting off a one-year time jump where Fisk pursues his mayoral ambitions while Murdock grapples with his dual identity.

Maintaining its TV-MA rating, the show features bone-crushing action, psychological tension, and complex moral dilemmas. According to CNET, the fight sequences are brutal, with immersive sound design that makes “bones crack in your ear” and “blood spurt on screen.” The series delves into themes of justice, vengeance, and political power, blurring the lines between heroism and villainy.

The show also introduces a mix of new and returning characters, including Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, Karen Page, Ben Poindexter/Bullseye, White Tiger, and Vanessa Fisk. Meanwhile, Margarita Levieva joins as Murdock’s new love interest, Heather, a therapist who challenges his perception of himself.

With its fast-paced storytelling, intense action, and psychological depth, Daredevil: Born Again successfully revives the franchise, offering longtime fans and newcomers an exhilarating return to Hell’s Kitchen.
