The founding president of Isra Islamic Foundation (IIF) and Chancellor of Isra University, Prof Dr Ghulam Qadir Kazi, breathed his last on Monday. He was laid to rest in his ancestral village Nasarpur, near Hyderabad, on Tuesday after his Namaz-e-Janaza which was organized in the varsity's cricket ground.
A number of notable persons, teachers, students and especially medical practitioners attended his funeral. Dr Kazi was an Ophthalmologist by profession. He obtained FRCS from Glasgow, FRC Ophth from the UK and a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology from King Khalid Specialist Eye Hospital, Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.
