Karachi weather: Hot days ahead as heat returns this week
Winter comes to a close in Sindh and Balochistan, with Karachi set to experience rising temperatures this week, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Moreover, weather experts also predict that nighttime temperatures in the metropolis are likely to drop by two to three degrees Celsius over the next two to three days, ranging between 13°C and 16°C.
Suburban areas like Surjani Town, Scheme 33, and Steel Town may see temperatures between 10°C and 12°C, while Federal B Area, Orangi Town, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal could experience lows between 12°C and 15°C.
Experts noted that coastal regions will maintain stable temperatures between 17°C and 20°C, marking the official end of winter.
However, daytime temperatures are forecasted to rise from March 6, reaching between 35°C and 37°C, with nighttime temperatures climbing to 22°C to 25°C.
Meanwhile, PMD also stated that the rain-bearing weather system affecting Lahore and parts of Punjab is expected to continue for some time.
Light rain is forecast to persist throughout the day today, although the intensity is expected to ease by the evening. As the system moves on, weather conditions should start to improve, with clear skies likely by tomorrow.
The rain has brought cooler weather, much appreciated by the city’s residents, though it has caused some disruptions.
The administration has mobilised teams to ensure that roads and underpasses remain clear, while also issuing precautionary measures for travellers.
In contrast, Thandiyani, Nathiagali, Donga Gali, Ayubia, and other hilly areas of Abbottabad received the heaviest snowfall of the season, with up to three feet in some areas.
Temperatures plunged below freezing, blocking most link roads in Galiyat, including the main Abbottabad to Murree route.
