Passengers protest at Islamabad Airport over seven-hour flight delay to Dubai
A flight from Islamabad to Dubai was delayed by seven hours, causing frustration among around 200 passengers who staged a protest at the New Islamabad Airport.
The flight, operated by a private airline, was originally scheduled to depart at 2:15 PM. However, despite the lengthy delay, the flight was unable to take off even after seven hours.
The passengers, including elderly individuals, women, and children, expressed their anger by protesting at the airport, demanding an explanation for the delay.
The airline staff was notably absent, adding to the passengers' frustration. As a result, the passengers, who had been waiting for hours, were left without any assistance or information regarding the flight's status.
The protest disrupted operations at the airport, and passengers urged the airline to address the situation and ensure that such delays do not occur in the future.
Earlier, due to heavy rain and fog, six flights to northern regions have been canceled, impacting flight operations. Dense fog is affecting visibility at Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot, and Islamabad airports.
Lahore Airport is experiencing thunderstorms with lightning, and partial rain is ongoing in Peshawar.
As per the flight schedule, four flights from Islamabad to Gilgit (PK 601, 602, 605, and 606) have been canceled.
Additionally, two flights from Islamabad to Skardu (PK 451 and 452) have also been canceled. The flight schedule indicates delays in the arrival and departure of 14 other flights at various airports.
