The Sanam Teri Kasam fanfare is not ready to dwindle just yet. Veteran actor Atiqa Odho has joined the scores of admirers that the 2016 film keeps racking up since its groundbreaking re-release in February.
"Just watched Sanam Teri Kasam and was mesmerised by both Mawra Hocane and Harshvardhan Rane," Odho wrote in an Instagram post shared Saturday. "Such a beautiful love story with touching performances, and a great example of cross-border collaborations."
The Kaisi Teri Khudgarzi actor added that Pakistan and India should consider working on more projects in the future, given the cultural similarities. "Bilateral relationships, similar language, and shared history are what we should look at and set politics aside when it comes to soft image ambassadors. Well done, STK team!" she wrote.
After the re-release's record-breaking success in India, it has been hard for even Bollywood greats to keep their eyes away from the Mawra Hocane starrer.
Commending the re-released film's triumph at the box office, Anil Kapoor wrote on Instagram Stories last month, "Congratulations to (producer) Deepak Mukut and the entire Sanam Teri Kasam team on its re-release! The film has already won hearts, and its success is truly well-earned. Wishing Harshvardhan Rane, Mawra Hocane, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, (co-producer) Hunar Mukut, and everyone involved even more milestones ahead!"
Mawra, who played the female lead Saru, was quick to take note of Anil's praises. Re-sharing the Story, she replied, "Thank you, Anil Kapoor sir!"
Another Bollywood veteran, Vidya Balan, not only lauded the film's success but also watched it in the theatre. "Enjoyed watching this simple love story in the theatre! Congrats to Mawra Hocane, Harshvardhan Rane, Radhika Rao, Vinay Sapru, Kaleem Khan," Vidya wrote in an Instagram Story. But that's not all. Someone in particular captivated Vidya's interest as she wrote, "Mawra, you are amazing."
Mawra, who has simultaneously been basking in the glow of her marriage and the newfound success of her Bollywood debut, finally got a chance to collect her thoughts in an Instagram post shared Saturday. Penning a heartfelt note, she appreciated the hard work of her crew and dwelled on her own thoughts.
Sharing a carousel of clips from the film, she wrote, "Not me fainting to the numbers STK re release is doing. Absolutely magical!" Reflecting on the unexpected love, she added, "STK re-releasing is a testament to the fact that you can't get more than what your time and fate can offer. I'm so so grateful for the love you've all poured in during the last three weeks. It's unheard of. They're saying we've made history."
