BRA terrorist arrested
An allegedly wanted terrorist affiliated with the banned Baloch Republican Army (BRA) has been arrested in a joint raid conducted by the Sindh Rangers and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Malir.
The suspected BRA terrorist, identified as Zubair Ahmed, alias Zabiu, is accused of carrying out several attacks against security forces.
According to an official, Zubair Ahmed, a resident of Tamp, in Balochistan, joined the BRA under the leadership of Commander Zarin, alias "Current," in 2016. underwent six months of training at Camp Ghazni in Makran, Balochistan.
0Preliminary investigations indicate that Zubair Ahmed, along with his associates, was involved in several attacks on security installations. In 2016, he participated in assaults on key security posts, including the Mand Bhal FC check-post, Tamp Grid Station FC camp, and Rod Bin FC check post, using rocket launchers and other heavy weaponry. These attacks resulted in casualties and financial losses for security forces.
0From 2016 to 2019, the suspect remained highly active in militant activities across Balochistan. However, in 2020, he fled to Dubai to evade capture, from where he continued operating his network. Reports suggest that he was involved in financing the Balochistan militant organisation (BMO) and recruiting new fighters through radicalisation efforts.
