Snoop Dogg has officially announced his partnership with Tune.FM, a Web3 music streaming platform designed to provide artists with more control and transparency over their earnings.

The rapper revealed his move on February 27, 2025, with the exclusive release of his new single, Spaceship Party, on Tune.FM.

In a candid statement, Snoop made it clear that he’s no longer associated with Spotify. “I don’t f**k with Spotify anymore. I’m only on Tune.FM,” Snoop told Billboard in an interview on February 28. The rapper’s frustration with Spotify stems from his experience with the platform’s payment system, particularly after he was paid less than $45,000 for a billion streams. He recounted the moment on the Business Untitled Podcast, explaining how his publisher broke down the earnings from his massive stream count, which were far below expectations. “That sh*t wasn’t even $45,000,” he said.

Spotify responded to Snoop’s claims, acknowledging the discrepancy but maintaining that a billion streams on the platform typically generates millions of dollars for rights holders. The company suggested that Snoop, now the owner of Death Row Records, may be seeing more revenue from his music. However, Snoop’s dissatisfaction with the system led him to Tune.FM, a blockchain-based platform that pays artists instantly through its cryptocurrency, JAM, based on the number of seconds their music is streamed.

The move to Tune.FM could signal a shift in the music industry, as more artists explore Web3 alternatives to traditional streaming services. With Snoop Dogg at the helm, Tune.FM aims to provide a more equitable, artist-friendly future in music streaming, one where artists retain greater control over their content and earnings.
