Rapper Lil Baby has denied rumors that he was arrested by the FBI after reports linked him to a 2024 Atlanta shooting.
The speculation spread on social media on February 27, 2025, after Channel 2 Action News reported that the Atlanta Police Department had connected an unnamed rapper to the case.
The rumors stemmed from a triple shooting that occurred during a Lil Baby music video shoot in May 2024. Police believe the incident fueled a gang rivalry, leading to the deaths of two teenagers—13-year-olds Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman—at a birthday party in July.
At a February 26, 2025, press conference, Atlanta police officials announced the arrests of seven individuals connected to the shooting.
During the briefing, Major Ralph Woolfolk referred to “the cowardly acts of an Atlanta-based rapper,” leading many to speculate that he was referring to Lil Baby. However, he did not name the rapper directly.
Following the rumors, Lil Baby took to Instagram Stories on February 27 to dismiss the claims, writing, “Thanks for all the concerns. Please don’t be misinformed by fake news!! I’m overly good.” His affiliate, Therealmohawk, dismissed the rumors, calling them “fake narratives” and stating that there was “no truth in it.”
Lil Baby, who was unharmed in the May 2024 shooting, has not been formally accused or charged in connection to the case. He remains focused on his upcoming album Dominique, following the success of his January 2025 release, Wham, which debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200.
