Anne Hathaway was spotted looking tense on the set of Verity, the latest Colleen Hoover novel to be adapted into a film. Filming has commenced in New York as the It Ends With Us legal battle continues, sparking speculation about its impact on future Hoover adaptations.
Hathaway plays the titular Verity Crawford, a bestselling thriller author with a dark past. She was seen stepping out of her trailer in an elegant white dress, holding a book in one hand while an assistant shielded her from the weather.

Co-star Josh Hartnett, who plays Verity’s husband Jeremy, was also seen on set dressed in a tailored navy suit .
The film’s production follows months of legal drama surrounding It Ends With Us, another Hoover adaptation starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment, while Baldoni countered with a $400 million defamation lawsuit against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane. The dispute has reportedly put other Hoover projects at risk.

Insiders claim Hathaway briefly reconsidered her role in Verity amid the controversy, and Hoover, 45, is said to be distancing herself from the It Ends With Us fallout to protect her future projects. The ongoing saga has led to industry concerns over whether Verity and other Hoover adaptations could be affected.
Described as a "psychosexual thriller," Verity follows struggling writer Lowen Ashleigh (played by Dakota Johnson), who is hired to complete Verity Crawford’s unfinished book series. When she discovers a disturbing manuscript, she begins to question the truth about Verity’s past.
Despite the surrounding drama, Verity continues filming with no announced delays.
