Driver on cell phone crashes into tree

He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by a rescue service.

An oft repeated warning, not to use mobile phone while driving, is wantonly ignored by many drivers resulting in accidents.

In one such incident, a man, Saifullah Khalid, rammed his car into a tree in DHA phase VII. Police said he was using his cell phone while driving.

He was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) by a rescue service.

Separately, a speeding wagon overturned while descending the FTC bridge. As a result, five passengers including a woman were injured.

In another accident, a speeding vehicle overturned after the driver lost control on the steering and hit a tree in Defense Phase VII. One person in the vehicle was injured. The injured were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital where they were identified as Mehreen, Shafi, Sabir, Muqadas, Ali and Saifullah Khalid. The police arrested the driver of the coach while the conductor managed to escape.

Trailer driver kills biker

A trailer driver ran his mammoth vehicle over two bike riders, killing one and seriously injuring the other near Landhi Firdous Chali Gul Ahmed Cut in Quaidabad.

Volunteers from the Chhipa Welfare Association rushed the injured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) late at night in critical condition.

Rescue officials identified the deceased as 25-year-old Shahbaz, while the surviving injured individual is 22-year-old Shahmeer, who remains in serious condition.

According to rescue officials, the accident occurred when a trailer collided with their motorcycle. The trailer driver fled the scene. However, authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
