London lights up for Ramadan for third consecutive year

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has inaugurated Ramadan lights in central London, making the British capital the first city in the Western world to display them for a third consecutive year.

Speaking at the event, Khan said the tradition reflected London’s diversity and inclusivity. "It is a matter of pride that we continue to install Ramadan lights, demonstrating our commitment to recognising all faiths," he said.
"We must show the true image of Islam, where people pray, give to charity, and even break their fast with non-Muslims."
