Vawda asks why PTI's Murad Saeed is in hiding

Says a lot of big people will have to face trial if Arshad Sharif case is opened

ISLAMABAD:

Senator Faisal Vawda has said that anchor Arshad Sharif was murdered and that a lot of "big people" will face trial if his case is opened.

Talking to the anchor of a private news channel on Tuesday, Vawda clarified that former prime minister Imran Khan was not involved in that murder but "he knew that something was going to happen".

Vawda, who served as a federal minister in Imran Khan's cabinet, asked as to why former minister and PTI leader Murad Saeed was in hiding since Sharif's murder.

He claimed that Arshad Sharif was close both to the establishment and the PTI. "A number of links will be revealed when the case is investigated," he added.

The former PTI leader once again accused Imran Khan's third wife Bushra Bibi for the plight of the PTI founder. He said the party used to stage protests and sit-in even before 2018—the year when Imran married Bushra—but it did not resort to violence then.

He claimed that the relationship between the establishment and Imran Khan started becoming sour only after a former ISI chief—the incumbent chief of army staff, General Syed Asim Munir—presented evidence of Bushra and her cohorts' corruption to Imran.

"However, instead of rewarding and appreciating General Munir, Imran removed him overnight. It has never happened before that the DG ISI was changed at 10pm, and by 10:45pm, the new DG ISI, Faiz Hameed, took charge. You would not have heard of such an incident in history," he said.

According to Vawda, "Farah Gogi and Usman Buzdar were products of Bushra Bibi".
