PESHAWAR:

With the approach of Ramazan, the rush of buyers has increased manifold in Peshawar's markets as almost everyone is busy buying groceries.

Locals have started buying pulses, rice, ghee, sugar and other edibles.

Consumers, however, are worried due to the skyrocketing inflation. Traffic problems have also arisen due to the sudden rush in the markets located inside the old walled city.

Due to traffic problems, vehicles are lined up in various markets but it is almost an uphill task to find parking for motorcars.

Due to the hustle and bustle on Ashraf Road, the traffic system on GT Road has also been affected and the long queue of vehicles could be seen on GT Road.

Consumers are buying various items but mostly in limited quantity due to the higher prices and rapidly dwindling purchasing power of the general public in the country.

Due to skyrocketing inflation, there are chances of a record decrease in Ramazan shopping this year.

On the other hand, the prices of chicken, vegetables and other items have started increasing as per the annual routine without inviting any attention from the quarters concerned.

As Ramazan approaches, the prices of fruits, vegetables, etc. are continuously going up.

Hoarders have become active to create an artificial shortage. There are chances of an artificial crisis of meat in Ramazan. Beef prices are continuously showing an upward trend.
