IFA targets excessive salt consumption

ISLAMABAD:

Dr Tahira Saddique, Deputy Director of Operations (DDO) at the Islamabad Food Authority (IFA), has announced that the authority, in collaboration with the Impact International Research Organisation, aims to implement stricter sodium guidelines, raise public awareness, and promote healthier eating habits.

Dr Saddique emphasised that the IFA is taking a proactive approach to tackle the health risks associated with excessive salt consumption.

The initiative is designed to combat chronic diseases such as hypertension, heart disease, and kidney problems, which are aggravated by high salt intake.
