Elon Musk is under fire after a resurfaced video showed his four-year-old son, X, walking down metal stairs without supervision at a public event. The clip, which quickly went viral, sparked debate about Musk’s parenting, with critics accusing him of “abandoning” his child.
The footage, believed to be from a January MAGA rally, shows Musk exiting the stage while X follows behind, holding the handrail and waving to the crowd. However, when the camera cuts back, Musk is seen interacting with the audience, and X is no longer visible. Social media users called the situation “very dangerous,” claiming Musk “forgot he had his son with him.”
The backlash comes days after Musk’s father, Errol Musk, criticized his son’s parenting skills in an interview. Errol alleged that Elon “hasn’t been a good dad” and blamed him for the tragic death of his first child, Nevada, who passed away from SIDS at ten months old.
Supporters defended Musk, arguing that X likely had security watching over him and that “even the best parents sometimes do stuff like this.” Others insisted Musk brings his son to public events “for show” but lacks genuine involvement in his upbringing.
As the debate continues, Musk has not publicly addressed the viral video or his father’s remarks. His parenting choices remain a hot topic, with strong opinions on both sides.
