Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited Dubai Stadium ahead of the highly anticipated Pakistan-India match.

During his visit, Naqvi observed the Pakistan team’s practice session, interacted with the players, and held discussions with the coaching staff.

Speaking to the media, he expressed confidence in Pakistan’s victory, stating that the team is fully prepared and that a competitive match is expected. He added that "things can go up and down, but Insha’Allah, Pakistan will win."

PCB seeks ICC explanation

Naqvi also addressed the recent incident where the Indian national anthem was played during the Australia-England match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. He stated that the International Cricket Council (ICC) is investigating the matter, as it was responsible for organizing the tournament.

Naqvi further remarked that Pakistan has extended goodwill by releasing 22 Indian fishermen and questioned how India would feel if a similar incident occurred in Lahore while they were playing. He reassured the national team that win or lose, the PCB stands with them.

It should be noted that during the Australia vs England match at Gaddafi Stadium on Saturday, the Indian anthem was mistakenly played.

Sources revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had sought clarification from the ICC regarding how the Indian anthem was included in the playlist for the match.

The sources further confirmed that the ICC had prepared the anthem playlist for the Champions Trophy, and despite India not being in Pakistan, the Indian anthem was included. The responsibility of playing the anthem was with the ICC.
