Two bandits killed in 'police encounter'
Two robbers were killed allegedly by the firing of their own accomplices during a face-off with the police in the Pindi Gheb area, police claimed on Friday.
The police said an emergency call alerted the local police that four robbers were looting citizens at gunpoint by blocking a road near Pindi Gheb in the vicinity of Mianwala woods.
Upon receiving the information, a police team immediately rushed to the scene to find four unidentified robbers blocking the road. Seeing the cops, the suspects opened fire indiscriminately at the police party.
The police team used strategy to save themselves and traded fire with the suspects. The police spotted two suspects dead after the firing ceased. Two other suspects managed to escape while taking advantage of the darkness. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the deceased robbers were identified as Nauman Khan and Amir Saeed, both residents of Peshawar.
Their bodies were transferred to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Pindi Gheb for post-mortem examinations.
Police teams were dispatched to apprehend the remaining suspects, and a blockade was set up throughout the area.
Earlier, suspect Malik Alamgir alias Malik Sanaa of Mari Kanjore, was also killed by gunfire from his own accomplices during Hazro police encounter on February 17. It is quite strange that the criminals were killed by the firing of their own accomplices in all police encounters in Attock, but police personnel miraculously remained unharmed.
Deceased Amir Saeed, who was currently residing in Dhoke Ratta in Rawalpindi, had 13 cases against him, including nine cases at police stations of Waris Khan, Banni and Dhamiyal in Rawalpindi, and four at Rangu police station in Attock.
