Incinerator plant inaugurated

The Director-General (DG) of Military Land and Cantonments Pakistan, Major General Irfan Ahmed Malik, on Wednesday inaugurated the state-of-the-art incinerator plant, designed to completely eliminate hazardous hospital waste, at Cantonment General Hospital Rawalpindi.
During the event, the DG was briefed by the hospital administration that this incinerator is the first of its kind, an advanced imported plant fully operational now. It can efficiently dispose of medical waste such as empty blood bags, used syringes, and other types of waste, which will help in the prevention and control of various diseases. Other hospitals, whether within cantonment areas or outside, can also benefit from this facility.
The incinerator has the capability to destroy dangerous waste within a fully secure environment at temperatures ranging from 1,150 to 1,300 degrees Celsius. It has the capacity to dispose of up to 100 kilograms of waste per hour.
