NEPRA approves 65 paisa reduction in KESC power tariff
KESC argued that company saved Rs350m in wake of decreasing oil prices.
The National Electric Power Regulation Authority (NEPRA) approved a reduction of 65 paisas per unit for the consumers in Karachi on Thursday, reported Express 24/7.
The notification will be issued in December and till then, the consumers are required to bear the added cost of 74 paisas per unit.
NEPRA heard the Karachi Electric Supply Corporation's (KESC) request for a decrease in tariff on Thursday.
The KESC officials argued that the company saved Rs350 million in the wake of decreases in the prices of oil in July.
NEPRA approved the reduction of 65 paisas and consumers can expect retrospective adjustments in their bills after December.
