Lil Tjay is facing backlash after a video surfaced showing him spitting at a Madison Square Garden security guard.
The Bronx rapper was attending a boxing event at the iconic venue when the incident occurred. According to footage shared online, the altercation began when Lil Tjay accidentally knocked a light off a guard rail while posing for a photo.
A security guard gently pushed the rapper away from the rail, seemingly trying to redirect him. Lil Tjay's entourage quickly explained that it was an accident, but tensions escalated. In a second video, Lil Tjay is seen briefly arguing with the guard.
As a friend stepped in to de-escalate the situation, the rapper leaned forward and spat at the security guard, even attempting to strike him. Another security officer intervened, restraining Lil Tjay and escorting him out of the building.

This controversy adds to a history of legal issues for the rapper. Last April, Lil Tjay (whose real name is Tione Merritt) was arrested at Miami-Opa Locka airport on his 23rd birthday for a missed court appearance from September 2021. Additionally, he was shot multiple times in New Jersey in June 2022 and underwent emergency surgery after the attack.
