Senator Faisal Vawda said on Monday that the opposition would neither form a grand alliance nor stage any sit-ins in the country after the language used by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur against Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Talking to various news channels, the former federal minister stated that all the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members were compromised, adding that the party founder wrote a letter, but the party did not endorse it.
"There should be clarity among us after the language used against Maulana Fazl in the media. After that it would be foolish to think of a grand alliance," he said, referring to Gandapur's recent remarks.
"Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his entire cabinet and the government are there to save Gandapur."
For the last 75 years, Vawda said, parliament had been an arena to sell lies and deceit. "Our behaviour is not democratic," he added.
When asked about his opposition to the purchase of new vehicles by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), he replied: "I was right, it [the decision] has been reversed."
