Nick Chubb's future uncertain as Browns face pressure from Dallas Cowboys

Browns RB Nick Chubb enters free agency after a down year, with Dallas Cowboys emerging as a potential landing spot.

The Cleveland Browns must decide whether to retain running back Nick Chubb, who is set to enter free agency after an underwhelming 2024 season.

While speculation around Myles Garrett’s future dominates headlines, Chubb’s next move could significantly impact the Browns’ offense.

Chubb returned to action in 2024 after suffering a severe knee injury but struggled to regain his previous form. In eight games, he recorded 102 carries for 332 yards and three touchdowns, averaging just 3.3 yards per carry.

That level of production raises concerns for Cleveland as they weigh the decision to re-sign him.

Despite the drop in performance, Chubb could still be a valuable asset for teams looking to upgrade at running back.

His past success may make him an appealing option for a franchise willing to take a chance on his recovery.

FanSided’s Nick Villano predicts Chubb will not return to Cleveland, instead signing with the Dallas Cowboys in free agency.

“The Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones are going to salivate at this opportunity,” Villano wrote.

“They have a major need for a running back without a real game-changer on the market. However, that means they can take a low-risk chance on a guy like Chubb to see if he turns back the clock.”

With free agency approaching, the Browns must decide if Chubb’s best years are behind him or if he’s worth another contract.

Meanwhile, teams like the Cowboys could view him as a potential low-risk, high-reward signing.
