A minor dispute stemming from a children's fight escalated into a deadly shooting in the Dheri Hassanabad area of Rawalpindi's Civil Lines police jurisdiction, leaving two people dead and one injured.
According to a police spokesperson, the police have arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.
A complainant named Muhammad Qasim reported that he was out for a walk with his brother, Muhammad Iqbal, after dinner when they encountered a scuffle near Chungi Chowk.
The altercation involved Aryan and Moazzam on one side and Sajil and Muzammil on the other, linked to a prior dispute.
As Qasim and others attempted to intervene, Aryan and Moazzam suddenly pulled out pistols, allegedly declaring, "Today, we will teach you a lesson for siding with our cousin Mohsin."
They then opened fire, critically injuring Muhammad Iqbal, Sajil, and Muzammil. The victims were rushed to the hospital, but Muhammad Iqbal and Sajil succumbed to their injuries. The suspects fled the scene.
Rawalpindi CPO Khalid Hamdani took notice of the incident and sought a report from SP Potohar.
Police officials confirmed the arrest of three suspects, including Aryan, and stated that initial investigations indicated the shooting resulted from a minor dispute between children. Raids are ongoing to apprehend other suspects involved, the spokespersons said.
