Liverpool extended their Premier League lead to seven points after a tense 2-1 win over Wolves at Anfield, with Mohamed Salah continuing his prolific form.

The Egypt forward netted his 23rd league goal of the season from the penalty spot, securing his fifth goal in four games as manager Arne Slot watched from the bench.

Slot, serving a potential touchline ban following Liverpool’s draw with Everton, has until Wednesday to respond to an FA charge.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring in the 15th minute, bundling the ball over the line after Salah’s deflected pass fell into his path. Diaz later won a penalty, which Salah converted in the 37th minute to put Liverpool in control.

But it was a game of two halves, as Wolves fought back valiantly.

Added pressure at start of the second period resulted in Mathues Cunha's splendid goal, with Wolves maintaing their increasing stronghold on the second half.

The visitors threatened late on as well, but Liverpool held firm to the end.

Surprisingly, Liverpool did not register a single shot in a half for the first time in 8 years. They held on with Endo and Van Dijk's experience, who calmed things towards the end.
