
A mother of six was killed when the motorcycle she was riding was hit by a speeding truck at a U-turn near Baloch Colony in Mahmoodabad on Saturday. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Shameem, was riding with her brother-in-law, Shabbir, as they made their way home.
The accident took place when the motorcycle was taking the U-turn near the Baloch Colony flyover. According to Shabbir, a speeding Mazda truck crashed into the motorcycle from behind. Shameem suffered an injury to her forehead which proved fatal.
Shabbir said that the truck driver fled the scene after the fatal hit. Chhipa volunteers shifted the body to JPMC. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old woman, Amna Bibi, was found dead in her house in Qasba Islamia Colony, Pirabad.
According to police, Amna was stabbed to death by her husband, Muhammad Yousuf. The Crime Scene Unit was called to the scene and the body was transported to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Amna was killed by husband during a domestic dispute. Yousuf allegedly used a sharp tool to stab Amna and then fled the scene.
SHO Pirabad Imtiaz Jat said police are searching for Muhammad Yousuf and investigating the incident further.
