HRCP, KUJ unite against PECA 2025
A roundtable discussion was hosted by the HRCP and the Union of Journalists at the Press Club
KARACHI:
Journalists, academics, and human rights and civil society organisations have condemned the PECA Act 2025, denouncing it as a draconian law aimed at curbing the globally recognised right to freedom of expression. This right is enshrined in Pakistan's Constitution.
During a roundtable discussion hosted by the HRCP and the Union of Journalists at the Press Club on Thursday, representatives vowed to intensify efforts to have the PECA withdrawn.
