Television personality Wendy Williams has accused her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., of mismanaging her finances, alleging that he used her money without her knowledge. Speaking on the TMZ podcast 2 Angry Men, Williams claimed that unauthorized financial decisions made by Kevin Jr. contributed to her being placed under guardianship.
The interview follows the release of Saving Wendy, a Tubi special in which Williams detailed her legal and financial struggles. The former talk show host, who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023, denied claims of cognitive impairment and asserted that her son played a role in her financial troubles.
While acknowledging that Kevin Jr. was once well-intentioned, Williams expressed her disappointment: "My son is a good person, but at this point, he is a horrible person to me." She also questioned his financial decisions, raising concerns about activities at her Miami apartment and transactions linked to her Wells Fargo account.
Court documents from September indicate that Kevin Jr. apologized for past financial missteps. However, the court ruled that he could not ensure Williams' financial safety and might expose her to further exploitation. Williams suggested that her son was not the only person involved in mishandling her money, noting that Wells Fargo froze her accounts to prevent additional losses.
The financial troubles extended beyond Williams’ accounts. Just weeks after she attended his college graduation, Kevin Jr. faced eviction from his Miami apartment for failing to pay $4,316 in rent, highlighting ongoing financial difficulties. The property owner later dismissed the filing.
As Williams continues her legal battles, her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, has requested a new medical evaluation, a move that could impact Williams' future autonomy, according to TMZ.
