Cloudy skies have covered most districts of Punjab, as a weather system with rain-bearing clouds has entered Pakistan.

The Meteorological Department has released a forecast that indicates a cloudy day ahead, but little chance of rain today, Express News reported.

According to weather experts, while rain is unlikely today, there is a greater possibility of showers in Lahore and surrounding districts tomorrow.

The expected rainfall would bring a welcomed drop in temperatures, offering a brief respite from the heat.

The temperature in Lahore today is expected to hover around 9°C as the minimum, with a high of around 24°C.

While the clouds will continue to dominate the sky, temperatures are expected to dip further in the coming days as rain becomes more likely.

Moreover, the weather in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) remains cold and dry, with temperatures dropping as low as -3°C in some areas, according to the Meteorological Department.

The weather forecast indicates that the majority of the province will experience cold and dry conditions in the coming days, with partial cloud cover expected in areas like Chitral, Dir, and Swat, Express News reported.

These areas may also witness light fog during the mornings.

The provincial capital, Peshawar, recorded a temperature of 6°C, while the lowest temperature was recorded in Parachinar, where it dropped to -3°C.

Similarly, Malam Jabba and Kalam witnessed temperatures of -2°C, and Chitral Drosh experienced zero degrees Celsius.

Other areas in the province also reported below-freezing temperatures, with Lower Chitral at 2°C, Dir at 4°C, and Dera Ismail Khan at 9°C.
