Kai Havertz out for the season in huge blow to Arsenal's title charge
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after sustaining a hamstring tear during the club’s winter training camp in Dubai, according to The Athletic.
The German international suffered the injury while preparing for the second half of the campaign, dealing a significant blow to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Havertz has been a regular in Arteta’s starting XI this season, playing a crucial role in Arsenal’s attacking setup.
Even though he's faced criticism this season, Havertz is Arsenal's leading goalscorer across all competitions this season with 15 goals in 34 appearances.
However, his campaign has come to an abrupt end, with David Ornstein reporting that he will be sidelined for the rest of the season.
It remains uncertain whether he will require surgery to recover fully.
His absence further compounds Arsenal’s injury problems, with multiple key players currently out:
- Gabriel Martinelli – Injured against Newcastle United
- Bukayo Saka – Sidelined with his own hamstring tear
- Gabriel Jesus – Ruled out for the season after suffering an ACL injury
With Arsenal competing for Premier League and European success, Arteta will now have to restructure his attacking options as he navigates the remainder of the season without some of his key forwards.
