Arjun Kapoor reacts to fan’s 'Malaika' shout at promotion event

Arjun Kapoor, the Bollywood actor currently promoting his upcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi, had a rather unexpected moment during a promotional event.

While interacting with fans, a loud shout of “Malaika” came from the crowd as Arjun took the stage. The comment, referencing his ex-girlfriend, actress Malaika Arora, left Arjun visibly stunned.

In the viral video that quickly spread on social media, Arjun's co-stars, Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh, were answering questions from fans when the fan’s shout interrupted the flow.

As Arjun appeared in the frame, the fan’s enthusiastic mention of Malaika caused the actor to freeze in surprise. Arjun did not speak, but his bemused expression clearly reflected his reaction to the unexpected shout. Bhumi and Rakul, noticing the tension, smiled to ease the situation, while Arjun remained silent.

The incident drew attention, as Arjun and Malaika, who had been in a relationship since 2018, ended their romantic partnership in 2024. Arjun had openly addressed his relationship status during the promotion of his film Singham Again, where he confirmed that he was single. His candid remark at a Diwali party, where he told the media, “Nahin ab main single hoon, relax karo” (No, I am single now, relax), went viral shortly after.

Malaika Arora had since responded to Arjun's “single” comment, stating that her personal life was not for public discussion and that whatever Arjun had shared was his choice.

Despite their breakup, Arjun and Malaika continue to share a friendly rapport. Arjun showed his support for Malaika during the difficult time of her father Anil Mehta’s passing in September 2024, offering comfort and attending the funeral.

In a recent interview, Arjun also spoke about his past relationships, revealing how personal experiences had impacted his approach to romantic connections. He emphasized the importance of respecting emotional bonds, both during and after a relationship.

Arjun's upcoming film Mere Husband Ki Biwi, directed by Mudassar Aziz, also features Dino Morea, Harsh Gujral, and Shakti Kapoor in supporting roles. The film is slated for release on February 21, 2025.
