Patrick Mahomes Sr and John Rocker clash on Bourbon Street amid boxing match speculation

Former MLB pitchers Patrick Mahomes Sr and John Rocker engaged in a heated Bourbon Street altercation.

Former Major League Baseball pitchers Patrick Mahomes Sr. and John Rocker were involved in a heated exchange on Bourbon Street during Super Bowl week, with video footage showing the two being restrained as tensions escalated.

In the footage, which surfaced on social media, Mahomes Sr. is seen chatting with friends when Rocker approaches him. Initially, Rocker extends his hand for a handshake, but the interaction quickly turns hostile. The two exchange words before Mahomes Sr.’s companions step in, preventing the situation from escalating further. As Mahomes Sr. walks away, Rocker throws his drink near his feet, further fueling speculation about the nature of the confrontation.

Adding to the intrigue, just days before the incident, Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy suggested that Mahomes Sr. and Rocker were set to face off in an upcoming Rough ‘N’ Rowdy celebrity boxing event. This has led many to question whether the altercation was a genuine dispute or a promotional stunt.

Rocker later addressed the incident in a social media comment, saying, "This fing loser can't take a damn joke. Wish I laid him out right there and ruined his bulls* weekend even more."*

Mahomes Sr., who played for teams including the Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox, and New York Mets, and Rocker, known for his time with the Atlanta Braves, Cleveland Indians, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Texas Rangers, never played together during their MLB careers. While Mahomes Sr. maintained a steady career, Rocker remains a polarizing figure, largely due to his controversial remarks and outspoken personality.

Both parties have yet to provide further details on the incident, and attempts to reach their representatives for comment have been unsuccessful.
