Chaudhry moves IHC for production order

PTI Senator Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry on Tuesday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), requesting a production order to attend Senate sessions.

The petition states that Chaudhry was arrested in connection with the May 9 incidents and is currently detained at Lahore Jail. He argued that, as a senator, he has the constitutional right to attend Senate and joint parliamentary sessions.

Chaudhry has urged the court to allow his participation in all Senate proceedings. The petition names the Ministry of Interior, Senate Secretariat, Punjab IG Jails, Lahore Jail Superintendent, and Islamabad IGP as respondents in the case.
