Constable kidnapped, killed in Tank district

A police constable who was kidnapped five days ago was found slain in Tank district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa late Sunday night.

The funeral prayers were held at Tank Police Lines with full guard of honor.

Police told The Express Tribune that unidentified armed men kidnapped Constable Samiullah on February 5 while he was on his way to Gomal Police Station from court.

The kidnappers intercepted his vehicle near Gomal Canal and took him away. His body was discovered last night during a police search, and his funeral prayers were offered on Monday at Police Lines.

DPO Tank Aslam Nawaz Khan, along with other police and security officers, attended the funeral. During the ceremony, senior officers and a well-organized squad of Tank Police saluted the coffin.

On this occasion, military officials and the DPO vowed to bring the terrorists involved to justice as soon as possible. The DPO stated that the sacrifices of martyrs will not be in vain and that the police force will continue to fulfill its duties.
