GTA 6 hits the shelves in fall 2025

No more delays on game, companies confirm

Gamers, the wait is almost over! Developer company Rockstar Games has assured that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on course for its fall 2025 release period, as per Variety. Although no date has been finalised, parent company Take-Two Interactive also nodded to the news on Thursday.

"We've announced a pretty narrow window. So I think our view is that right now, that's fine," Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick told Variety, ahead of revealing its last quarterly earnings for 2024 on Thursday. "And then when it's appropriate, of course, Rockstar is going to have more to say."

Set in a fictional rendition of America, the video game series allows its players to experience the world of organised crime and rise up the ranks in order to unlock wins in the game. The trailer for the sixth instalment was released in December 2023 and has since amassed over 239 million views on YouTube, with fans frequently returning to express waning hopes for more content. And now that the companies have confirmed that GTA 6 is indeed on the way, the gaming community's spirits are back up.

Based on Rockstar Games' announcement on Friday concerning GTA Online, fans have reason to speculate that more content is on the way. "Get Triple Rewards on a new batch of Community Series Jobs in GTA Online," Rockstar Games wrote on Instagram. "Featuring Hotring-style stock car racing, a chaotic face-to-face Transform Race, and a couple mode that'll help you get in the romantic mood before Valentine's Day."

The attached photo, which features a pair holding twin pink guns, reminds fans of characters Jason and Lucia, who strike similar poses in the GTA 6 trailer. Users on social media now wonder whether an update will drop on Valentine's Day.

Aside from the theories, fans on social media have been expressing their delight that the game is on for this year. "Can't wait for this masterpiece," wrote a user on X. "Yes! I can't wait! Time to start practising my virtual life skills: stealing cars, getting money, robbing... Living the American Dream virtually, right? Go, GTA 6!" a fan quipped.

Others, though elated, launched a few playful threats in the companies' way. "They better [release it]," a user wrote. "GTA 6 is still set for fall 2025 - hopefully, no delays! After all the hype, I'm excited to see if it lives up to expectations," hoped another. "I was just talking to one of my friends about how we needed an update just to verify it's still on track," wrote another fan.
