ISLAMABAD:
The federal cabinet has granted approval for deputation of army contingents in order to tighten security during ICC Champions Trophy.
According to sources, the federal cabinet granted the approval under Article 245. Under which, civil armed forces, police and law enforcement agencies will jointly perform security duties during the matches of ICC Champions Trophy.
Teams participating in the mega event have started coming to Pakistan. The cabinet has green-lighted the deputation of Army for security purpose on the request of Sindh, Punjab governments and Pakistan Cricket Board.
