Youth who came to city in search of job, murdered
A young man who recently arrived in the metropolitan city in search of work was murdered, police said on Friday.
The body of the victim, identified as 20-year-old Muhammad Ilyas, a resident of Buner district, was found around 9am on February 5 near Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim Park in Clifton's Block 4. The body had signs of torture.
Police reached the spot and shifted the body to JPMC. The body did not have identification on him, prompting police to launch an investigation to identify him. According to the post-mortem examination, the cause of death was a severe head injury. Through biometric identification, the victim was identified as Muhammad Ilyas. He had come to Karachi just a month ago. He had left his uncle's house on February 3 to find work, but had not returned home since.
