Residents report 10 thefts in a single night

HARIPUR:

Khalabat police have come under scrutiny after failing to curb a recent crime surge, as burglars carried out multiple high-value thefts, including the looting of nearly 18 tolas (approximately 210 grams) of gold and large sums of cash in broad daylight. According to sources, in one incident in Sector 2, a group of thieves scaled the wall of Muhammad Hanif Khan Tanoli's residence while the family was away.

They broke into the cupboards, stealing over 15 tolas (175 grams) of gold and a significant amount of cash. As the family returned, the thieves managed to flee through the rooftop.

In another robbery in Sector 4, unidentified burglars targeted the residence of Abdul Rehman, making off with Rs42,000 in cash and gold worth Rs250,000.

Khalabat police have registered cases and begun investigations, but no arrests have been made.
