Lil Wayne has confirmed the release date for Tha Carter VI, with the highly anticipated album set to drop on June 6.

The New Orleans rap icon made the announcement via Instagram, sharing a playful Super Bowl-themed ad for Cetaphil, seemingly poking fun at his exclusion from the Super Bowl halftime show.

In the ad, Wayne teams up with actor and musician Bookem Woodbine to promote Cetaphil’s moisturizing products while making a subtle reference to his snub from the Super Bowl LIX halftime performance in his hometown. "Sometimes, we all get a Lil Sensitive… and hey, who hasn’t been there?" Wayne wrote in the caption, adding hashtags like #LilSensitive and #SeatToFill.

This announcement follows speculation about Wayne’s thoughts on Kendrick Lamar being chosen as the Super Bowl halftime headliner. Lamar’s track wacced out murals from GNX includes a line about Wayne: "I used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / The irony I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down."

Last November, Wayne responded cryptically on X (formerly Twitter), saying, "Man wtf I do?! I just be chillin & dey still kome 4 my head. Let this giant sleep."

Although Tha Carter VI details remain scarce, Wayne’s message is clear: he’s still on top of his game. Fans can expect more updates as the June release date approaches.
