Makes case for standing strong in the face of oppression

The Punjab Arts Council (PAC) organised a play "Hum Kya Chahte Azadi" on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.

The chief guest of the event was Parliamentary Secretary for Emergency Services and Member of the Punjab Assembly, Ziaullah Shah. The play was written and directed by Malik Anjum Zaman, while the cast included Saima Khan, Arshad Khan, Anjum Abbasi, Sawera Shehzadi, Shehzad Pappu, Shehzad Mughal and others.

Chief guest, Ziaullah Shah, stated, "Today is a day to express solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters. First and foremost, I would like to thank the Punjab Arts Council for presenting this meaningful and purposeful play, which not only highlights the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people but also strengthens our spirit of freedom. We all know that Kashmir is not just a piece of land; it is a part of our faith, our passion and our national pride."

He went onto add that the Kashmiri people have been enduring oppression and tyranny for decades, yet their resolve remains strong, and they continue their struggle for freedom. "We must never forget that every citizen of Pakistan stands side by side with the people of Kashmir and will continue to do so. This play is not just a story; it is the voice of our hearts, reminding us that Kashmir's freedom is near," he added to his point.
