Minorities’ rights: AJK govt proposes site for Church
Azad Jammu and Kashmir is proposing a site for the construction of the first-ever Church in Mirpur city.

In response to a long-standing demand of the local Christian community, the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) is proposing a site for the construction of the first-ever Church in Mirpur city, Pastor Reverind Saalik M Gill told The Express Tribune on Wednesday.
Gill said the Azad Kashmir government has directed the Mirpur district administration to implement the proposal by reserving a suitable piece of land for building the church. He said the revenue department has already pointed out a site in Afzalpur, Chachiyan, near Mirpur city for the project.
