Police arrest five in Multan gas explosion case
Police have arrested five suspects in connection with the deadly gas explosion in Fahad Town, which claimed 19 lives and left many injured.
The detained individuals include Fayyaz, a driver, and Muhammad Arif, a foreman associated with Rehmat Carriage Company, a gas transportation firm operating across multiple cities.
According to the police investigation, some employees of the company were engaged in illegal gas refilling, which led to the tragic explosion. The case has been registered under FIR No. 282/25, incorporating sections 302, 7ATA, 285, 286, and 109 of the law.
The arrests were made under the directives of CPO Multan Sadiq Ali Dogar, with supervision from SSP Operations Kamran Amir Khan, SP Cantt Javed Tahir Majid, DSP Muzaffarabad Bashir Ahmed, and SHO Muzaffarabad Police Station.
Initial findings suggest that the suspects were involved in unauthorized gas refilling when the tanker suddenly exploded, causing widespread devastation.
Authorities have intensified the search for additional suspects linked to the illegal gas network.
The owner of Rehmat Carriage Company and several others remain at large, with ongoing police raids to apprehend them.
